Joining Bushells Tea and Coffee in March 1974 Clayton was given an extensive training in tea and coffee buying, blending and quality control visiting plantations, factories, sale rooms and auction centres in Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia all the time gaining valuable experience that would one day establish the building blocks of a new age Australian family tea and coffee company.

The family first started business as CRP Trading P/L in 1993 supplying green coffee, bulk teas and training services to coffee roasting businesses throughout Australia. None of this would have been possible if not for the strong relationships with world's best coffee traders and tea traders including our major European tea supplier Gebruder Wollenhaupt who supply the bulk of our exotic, flavoured, fruit and herbal types and a mountain of fabulous of tea accessories.

We also are fortunate to boast strong relationships with origin suppliers who provide most of our black, green, semi-fermented and herbal types, which are selected and purchased during the best quality producing seasons. When they arrive in our Castle Hill warehouse we pack off original types and blend teas from various origins such as Sri Lanka, India, Kenya, China and Japan for our premium leaf tea blends.

Pine Tea & Coffee Pty Ltd sources the best origin coffees from around the world to blend, roast and produce award winning Bella Italia brand coffees. Bella Italia has won awards over the past four years at the NSW Royal Agricultural Society for Espresso, Cappuccino and Plunger categories. We also select quality Australian coffees for roasting and flavouring to form the Bella Italia Australian flavoured coffee range.

However, the market edge for Pine Tea & Coffee Pty Ltd is really in its specialty tea range. The range includes black, green, semi-fermented and white teas, flavoured varieties with fruit and flowers, fruit melanges, herbal infusions and exotic types like rooibos and honeybush. The focus for tourism is the Australian black teas sourced from Northern Queensland and various Australian blends with herbs and spices. A strong growth favourite is the spicy Australian Bushfire Chai blend. Teas are mostly sold under the popular Silver Tip brand, but also Pine Gourmet, Bushfire and Mahjongg brands the latter having a history in South Australia going back to 1905.

Pine Tea and Coffee personnel bring experience and professionalism to the business and industry with Clayton Pine having spent 30 years working through commodities, marketing and management positions in the industry and Lesley Pine bringing forward a wealth of retail management experience prior to becoming a partner in Pine Tea & Coffee in 1996. Together they are continually developing new products and other initiatives for the business. Clayton and Lesley have also served, as Chairman and Secretary respectively of the Australian Coffee and Tea Association such is the respect they gain from the industry. Clayton continues to be passionately active with the association which introduced him to legends in the industry as far back as 1974 and for which he has been an active committee representative on and off since 1985.

The company has sought out and developed customers from Capital cities to remote parts of Australia, and is being encouraged to seek international focus.
